L’ancêtre latin

CRASSUM‘thick, fat’

Les six sœurs en descendent, sauf indication contraire ci-dessous.

L’histoire

Three Latin adjectives for 'thick': Italian kept CRASSUS (grasso), French GROSSUS (gros), and Spanish GURDUS, which first meant 'dull-witted'. Spanish grasa 'fat (the substance)' and grueso 'thick' are relatives of the other two.

Parents anglais: crass
