L’histoire
Spanish and Italian took ULTIMUS straight from written Latin; French built 'the one at the back'. For 'last week', French puts dernier after the noun (la semaine dernière), while Spanish and Italian switch words: la semana pasada, la settimana scorsa.
Parents anglais: ultimate, ultimatum
